2016 - Points East Coastal Drive, PE

Today is a mix of cloudy, rainy and sunny weather. 1 day to drive 1/2 of PEI coast.


POINT PRIM
2147 route Point Prim

PEI'S oldest lighthouse designed by Isaac Smith and constructed by Richard Walsh. It measures 60 foot-tall (18.2 metre).



WOOD ISLANDS
Built in 1876 and finished by a local farmer, this lighthouse has a height of 54 feet with a 20 foot square tower attached to a two story light keeper's dwelling.



CAPE BEAR
Built in 1881, the tower height is 12.4 meters and the light, 22.6 meters above sea level.




PANMURE ISLAND
Panmure Head Lighthouse became PEI's first wooden lighthouse in 1853. Built by local shipbuilders, it has a 5 story, octagonal, 58 foot wooden tower.



SOURIS
Souris East Lighthouse is built in 1880. This red and white square tapered wooden tower has a height of 14.3 meters.





BASIN HEAD






EAST POINT
The East Point Lighthouse is built in 1867. The octagonal wooden tower measures 64 foot-tall.
