This year, on Saint-Jean-Baptiste, I decided to spend one sunny day with a friend on the beach located not too far from Montreal. It feels so good to be outside of the urban life!

THE NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL

Also known as "The Response",  this cenotaph symbolizes the sacrifice of all Canadian Armed Forces personnel who have served Canada in time of war in the cause of peace and freedom. The national Remembrance Day Ceremony  on November 11 takes place on this site.

On October 22, 2014, a Canadian soldier, Cpl Nathan Cirillo, was killed by a gunman while performing the duties of a sentry at the National War Memorial. At the age of 24, he was a reservist based out of Hamilton, ON.

HARD ROCK CAFE - HOTEL AND CASINO
The hotel is a bit off the Strip. It is recommended to go during daytime. My friend and I walked to there around 11 P.M. and took a cab back. If you go during night time, take a cab from Hilton at Miracle Miles to Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino and vice-versa. I feel safe walking 24 hrs on the Strip but not off the Strip. At Mr. Lucky's, there is a hidden menu for $7.77: the Gambler's Special. You need to order a drink to accompany this meal.
