2013 - Hong Kong (II)

Day 28 - October 7, 2013 – Big Buddha

This morning, I met some friends to go visit the Big Buddha (天壇大佛) at Lantau Island (大嶼山). This monument is one of the world's tallest outdoor bronze seated Buddhas at 34 metres (11 ft) high. To go up, we took the Ngong Ping 360 cable-car and to go down, we took the bus. There exists 2 types of cabins: Standard and Crystal. The Crystal Cabin is equipped with a glass bottom. I took the Standard one. The ride takes about 25 minutes.

Lantau Island has a bigger area than Hong Kong Island. This island is a nice place for outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling. Next time, I would like to go to Tai O (大澳). When I was kid, I used to watch the TVB serie called "大澳的天空".

In the evening time, another friend brought me for dinner. I tasted the Hong Kong Style Chicken Wings (瑞士汁雞翼).
