2015 - Boston, MA (II)

CHARLIE CARD

Instead of using Charlie Ticket, I used a Charlie Card for the T. It is free at the subway ticket booth. You can use one Charlie Card for many people. We were 8 people. We put in $16.80 ($2.10 per ticket) and another $16.80 for our way back. My card will expire only in 2025!

CHINATOWN

Hei La Moon (囍臨門)
88 Beach St.

My family and I had dim sum at Hei La Moon. It is neither the best nor the worst dim sum, but more variety than in Montreal. It is recommended in Boston.

FREEDOM TRAIL

This is the second time I walked on the Freedom Trail, but during summer time. I ended at the Old North Church.

Boston Common

"Outside The Box" is a free performing arts festival on the Boston Common for all ages. If you ever have a chance, go!

Massachusetts State House
24 Beacon Street

Completed on January 11, 1798, the Massachusetts State House was designed by Charles Bulfinch.

The land for the State House was originally used as John Hancock’s cow pasture. Its most distinct feature, the golden dome, was once made of wood, but was later overlaid with copper by Paul Revere. It was covered with 23-karat gold leaf for the first time in 1874 and was painted grey during World War II to protect the city from bombing attacks. A gilded wooden pinecone adorns the top of the golden dome, a symbol of the state's reliance on logging in the 18th century. Today, the Massachusetts State House is one of the oldest buildings on Beacon Hill, and its grounds cover 6.7 acres of land.

Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park

Between the Commercial Wharf and the Long Wharf, this is one of my favorite places in Boston.

North End

It is the Italian neighborhood.

- Old North Church:
193 Salem St.

My family and I ended the day with a dinner at an Italian restaurant on Hanover. Delicious jumbo shrimps!
